Prime Minister Edi Rama, during the signing of a new cooperation program with the Polytechnic University of Tirana, emphasized the importance of work internships for students as a way to increase the quality of public administration and build sustainable bridges between universities and state institutions.
"Since we announced the University Pact, the process of interaction with the university by field has seen continuous developments and experience has taught us that in these collaborations, with different faculties, there is much to learn, but at the same time there is always more to do, and today's program is an expression of this fact.
But at the same time, beyond this program which will enable recruitment for a special internship for a number of students of this university, we want to go even further and articulate even more special programs of this nature, to give all those who study at this university the opportunity to be involved in work internships which open up this perspective to them and provide them with the necessary information on how to become a permanent part of various bodies in the interest of the Albanian state.
On the other hand, to create new bridges, new channels of cooperation, so that investments and direct support to the university go to the function of mutual benefit. To materialize in the daily lives of students, in increasing the quality of the relevant state structures. Work practices have now become routine and every year we have a considerable number of students, who have the opportunity to use these work practices to explore the work front in everyday life.
As the rector said before me, internationalization is a process that has begun to yield the first results, but it requires the government and the university body to push harder to regain much of the lost time. We are making many efforts to bring academic input from the world, but also to open up to the world and create the opportunity for students to receive, as if they were abroad, what the world outside offers throughout its network of universities," said Rama.
