Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to accusations and claims that he travels by private plane in a communication with citizens on Facebook, denying these rumors.
Rama stated that he travels on the state plane only for official business trips, while on any private trip he uses economy class.
"If we had our own planes it would be better, but whoever does the math needs to go back to the math a bit to understand that planes are not just a word of mouth. Some fools have even eaten the big blunder that I, the government, have bought planes for ourselves. There is no plane bought for ourselves. The much-discussed plane used by me only for official trips because on every other private trip I take airliners and I am regularly with my family in economy, always. This is evidenced by all the declared and verifiable tickets, the plane used for official trips has not cost and does not cost the Albanian state more than the sum of the average expenses incurred each year by the Prime Minister of Albania, including, among others, my predecessor", the Prime Minister stated, among other things.
