The police of Rrogozhina have given official information about the death of the football player of the Egnatia team, Raphael Dëamena.

The police say that the captain of Egnatia was transported by ambulance to Kavaja Hospital, where he died.

"A special investigative group has been set up and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the work is continuing to clarify the cause of the loss of the player's life during the match," the police announced.

The 28-year-old collapsed on the field during the match between Egnatia and Partizan, allegedly due to heart problems. It is reported that the footballer had heart problems twice in the past.

Preliminary information from the police:

In the "Arena Egnatia" stadium, where the football match of the "Abisnet Superiore" league was taking place, between the Egnatia and Partizani teams, in the minute '23-'24, the footballer of the Egnatia team, a citizen of RD, 28 years old, captain of this team, he felt bad and fell to the ground, unconscious.  

Immediately, team doctors and an ambulance entered the field, and the footballer was transported to the Kavaja hospital, but the doctors confirmed that the 28-year-old had lost his life.
