New details emerge regarding the murder of a 29-year-old Albanian woman in Canada, who was shot to death by her ex-partner.
Savannah Kulla was murdered three days ago by her ex-partner, Anthony Descheppe. The incident occurred in a parking lot in full view of the victim and the perpetrator's 1-year-old daughter.
The young woman's mother, Karen Kulla, has tearfully recounted her daughter's final moments. She told local media that Savannah had gone to meet her ex-partner, who wanted to spend time with their 17-month-old daughter. But the meeting ended tragically.
"I just can't believe she's gone. She was so beautiful, smart and we loved her so much," her mother said.
According to the mother's testimony, it all started after an argument over the diaper bag.
“I heard him say, 'I need the diaper bag,' and she said, 'I'll get it.' He said, 'You forgot the damn bag!' and then he shot her three times,” she said.
"They had been separated for several months and had a one-year-old daughter, who was at the scene at the time of the incident ," Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said during a press conference Thursday afternoon.
Court documents obtained by CTV NeWs Toronto confirm that two years ago Deschepper “had shot Savannah Rose Kulla Davies.”
Canadian media reports that he also had previous firearms bans dating from 2006 and 2019, according to documents.
Deschepper also evaded police for a month after allegedly shooting at the Tower's house, before being arrested by Waterloo police.
However, he was released on bail a short time later and the trial on those charges was scheduled to take place only next year.
