A few days ago, news circulated on opposition-affiliated portals that the husband of a municipality employee had reported to the police station that his wife had cheated on him with the former mayor of Tepelena, Tërmet Peçi.

She was even told that her husband had filed a criminal complaint for rape with threats.

Today, Elda Xhakollari, the woman rumored to be involved in this incident, reacted, denying the news.

Xhakollari writes that "her husband did not "catch up" with the former mayor of Tepelena."

The woman warns that she has denounced every person who, according to her, fabricated the story and "killed" her, causing emotional harm to her family yesterday "and above all, to my two minor children."

The words are stuck in my soul, but now they need to come out.

For several days now, I have been the subject of false and defamatory news that has circulated on portals and social networks. A simple work situation has been misinterpreted, taken out of context and turned into a story that has no connection to my reality. What hurts me most is not simply the content of this news, but the emotional damage it has caused to me, my family and, above all, to my two minor children.

They don't understand why their mother is gossiped about, why people talk without knowing anything, why someone slanders but they feel everything. And that breaks me more than anything else.

I am not asking for mercy. I am asking for justice and sensitivity. I am asking that people not judge without knowledge, not hurt without reason, and not spread news that destroys real lives. None of what has been said is true. And every necessary legal step is being taken, not for revenge but to protect the truth and to say: ENOUGH!

Furthermore, I want to emphasize clearly that: MY HUSBAND HAS NEVER MADE THE STATEMENTS THAT ARE BEING MADE IN THE MEDIA. Every word that is claimed to have been said by him is a fabrication, and for this matter all criminal and civil avenues will be pursued against the authors of the defamatory articles, as well as those who have distributed them. This is a coordinated, low and terrible attack not only on me as a person, but also on my family and especially on my minor children, who have been unjustly exposed to this public violence. I will not allow anyone to use me as a "café" to be judged on portals that make "news" with coffee and Facebook comments.

No step will be left unfollowed. My dignity, my work and my family are not to be touched. And anyone who has thought of hitting me will face the full force of the law.

This is not just an attack on me as an individual.

It is an attack on the right to privacy, on ethics, and above all, an attempt to judge me publicly without any evidence, in the total absence of the truth. My family has been seriously injured, and this damage will not go unaddressed institutionally and legally. I will not remain silent. No portal, no commentator, no person who thinks they can use freedom of speech as a weapon of defamation will remain unanswered.

My dignity is not for sale. The truth will come out, and justice will be done.

It's very easy to judge someone without knowing the truth. It's very easy to be a "moralist".

It's very easy to write and swear behind that phone...and much, much more,

But it's not easy to deal with something like that, but I'm doing it for my children,

for my dignity and for every person who has been unjustly judged in silence.

Please, instead of spreading pain, spread understanding. Spread care. Slander is not news.

Defamation is violence!

I am more than a portal title. I am a mother, a daughter, a human being.

I say it out loud: everything that has been published about me is untrue. A slander, an injustice!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has stood by me with words of support and kindness. This means more than I can describe.

As for the rest of you who rejoiced over the pain of a woman, daughter, mother, I can only say one thing: "The day will come when you will be ashamed of yourself"...

I am not like you...and even if you kill me, you can't make me like you!
