The Elbasan Prosecution Office has launched investigations after the case in Gramsh where several children in kindergarten no. 1 are suspected of being poisoned by food containing salmonella.

Police announced on Sunday that six children had presented themselves to the hospital for medical attention.

All children and kindergarten staff have been tested.

"As material evidence, the clinical records of the six patients admitted to Gramsh hospital have been seized," the police announced.

The police have also completed the inspection and supply records of the kindergarten's food products, and food samples have been taken for further examination in laboratory conditions.

Authorities have also blocked the food products left in the kitchen of this kindergarten.

"All actions were carried out under the direction of the Elbasan General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office," the police announced.

The minors manifested fever, vomiting and headache.

The first signs of poisoning were detected at the beginning of the week, claiming it was some viral situation.

However, the results of the tests showed that they were infected with salmonella, which is suspected to have come from food served by a private catering company.
