The former socialist mayor of Vora, Agim Kajmaku, and his nephew have denied to investigators that they had anything to do with the cocaine caught in flower vases, which they had bought at a nursery in Grottammare, Italy.
In the testimony given to the Italian police, they stated that they did not know anything about the presence of the narcotics, more specifically 18.8 kg of cocaine.
Media across the Adriatic report that Kajmaku and his nephew are being held in Fermo prison. Their lawyer Vittorio Supino said he was working to clarify the position of his clients. He spoke of an adhesive tape that was seized at the time of their arrest, stressing that it is not the same tape used to pack cocaine bags.
The narcotics seized a few days ago will be sent to Anoka to be analyzed and to determine the percentage of its purity. Meanwhile, investigators are continuing the investigation to uncover how 18.8 kg of cocaine was sent to the nursery, which was hidden in the flower vases that were bought by Agim Kajmaku.
