A 28-year-old Albanian man was sentenced to 5.6 years in prison in Great Britain after being found guilty of cocaine trafficking. It is about citizen Veli Rakepi.

He was arrested by the English police on February 8 in Ipswich, after suspicions that he was a cocaine distributor. During a search, the police found that Rakepi was in possession of 14 small packages of cocaine, as well as 445 pounds in cash.

Further investigations led the police to the surroundings of a bar where they found a driver's license and a Greek identity card bearing a different name, but with Rakepi's photo. Investigations by the National Document Fraud Unit identified that these documents were forged.

He pleaded guilty while Rakepi himself claimed that he had found the drugs in a park shortly before he was stopped by the police. While adding that he intended to use the drug for personal use.

After a two-day trial, he was found guilty by a jury of all charges. Rakepi was sentenced to five years and six months in prison. He was also banned from driving for a total of 57 months.
