The cyber attack of Iranian hackers started 12 days ago, in addition to blocking the service of e-Albania, it also aimed to steal the documents of the Albanian State. On their website, the hackers have announced that in two days they will make a surprise that could be the publication of documents.
The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health have also fallen prey to the theft of sensitive documents. Hackers called HomeLandJustice published the documents, identities and data they obtained from the servers of the Ministry of Interior and Health.
They are the identification documents and residence permits of members of the Iranian opposition living in Albania. The hacker group linked to the interests of the Iranian state has targeted Albania because it is home to members of the MEK, the Iranian movement that aims to overthrow the regime in Tehran.
Under conditions of anonymity, a source from the Ministry of the Interior told Top Channel that since 12 days many computers in this ministry have not been opened for fear of infection and their testing is expected.
HomeLandJustice (Justice for the Homeland) has also published Health Cards belonging to MEK members sheltered in Albania but also some documents belonging to Ukrainian citizens living in Albania.
This suggests that they were also able to penetrate the electronic records of the Mandatory Health Care Insurance Fund under the Ministry of Health.
For the first time, HomeLandJustice (Justice for the Homeland) clarifies through a post why it undertook this cyber attack on Albania.
"We the HomeLandJustice group did not want or wish to harm the interests of the Albanian people. But when it comes to the corrupt governments and politicians of Albania, this is a different story. Albania cannot be the home of terrorists and fraudsters".
In this way, the hackers who attacked and found the weaknesses of the e-Albania system, severely damaging it, are also seeking to influence Albania politically.
