A powerful gas explosion at a gas station shook the Brryl area of ​​Tirana on Wednesday morning.

Located between two buildings and near homes and businesses, it created increased concern and panic among family members.

The fuel was completely destroyed, fortunately at the first moment of the explosion there were no citizens passing by on the adjacent sidewalk.

The explosion was so strong that the windows ended up on the other side of the road, in the bicycle lane.

Three employees of the entity were injured. After medical assistance at the Trauma Hospital, they were declared out of danger.

Police announced that the cause is suspected to have been a gas cylinder explosion while a vehicle was being refueled. The vehicle sustained burns in the rear.

For the director of the Tirana Fire Department, Shkëlqim Goxhaj, the explosion may have occurred in the office where the employees were staying.

But the State Technical and Industrial Inspectorate ruled out an explosion of fuel tanks.

For them, the fire may have started from a vehicle within the station's territory and then been accompanied by an explosion.

As part of the investigation, the police have escorted the administrator, technical director and fuel manager. The employees and the driver of the vehicle that was being refueled were also questioned.
