Holta Zaçaj's replacement as a member of this court will be chosen between current member of the Supreme Court Asim Vokshi, former president of the Supreme Court Naureda Llagami, and former public commissioner in the vetting process, Florian Ballhysa.
These three names have received the most points out of the 6 candidates remaining in the race. The Judicial Appointments Council published the scores for these 6 candidates a few days ago and the top three were: Asim Vokshi with 89.5 points, Naureda Llagami with a small margin behind him with 89.3 points and Florian Ballhysa with 77.83 points.
Following them were the candidates Alma Faskaj, Genta Tafa and Alban Toro, who are at least in the running for this appointment procedure. The elected member will only replace Zaçaj's mandate as a member of the Constitutional Court, while the procedures for electing the new President of the Court will begin immediately afterwards.
The Supreme Court is the institution of appointment. There are currently 17 senior judges, and for the meeting to appoint a member of the Constitutional Court to be legal, no less than three-quarters of them, i.e. 13 members, must participate.
The candidate who receives three-fifths of the votes of the judges present is declared elected. If the required majority is not reached, the candidate ranked first by the Judicial Appointments Council, namely Asim Vokshi, is considered elected.
