An operation spanning Germany, Italy and the Netherlands led to the destruction of a network of drug traffickers, mainly composed of Albanians. The operation, developed with the support of Eurojust and Europol, led to the arrest of 35 suspects, while 51 different places in the 3 countries were searched.

More than 600 officers participated in this operation. According to what is reported on the official website of Europol, this criminal network is accused of being responsible for the large-scale trafficking of cocaine and cannabis from South America to Europe and further distribution through the countries of the European Union.

The members of this network are also known by the authorities for the use of violence, including episodes of torture, or taking hostages for the purpose of extortion.

The benefits of this network are estimated to be great. They had several logistical bases, where they stored narcotic substances and where members of this gang met.

They also had a large fleet of vehicles equipped with sophisticated special places to hide drugs, phones equipped with encrypted text applications, etc.

According to the investigation, the criminal network made at least 36 imports, totaling 1 ton of cocaine and 1 ton of hash between March 2020 and June 2021. The value of the drugs is estimated to generate more than 1 million euros on the distribution market. During the investigations, the authorities also seized more than 1 million euro cash.
