They attempted to bring over 22 thousand francs and 500 euros into Albania

Two Kosovar citizens have been prosecuted at large after attempting to smuggle over 22,000 Swiss francs and 555 euros into Albania without declaring them.

The Border Police of the port of Durres discovered the money hidden in the body during a check based on risk analysis. The amount of money was seized as material evidence.

The case has been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Durrës for further legal action.

Police announcement:

BCP Port, Durrës/A case of non-declaration of significant amounts of money at the border crossing point is being investigated.

The materials for the case were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated in the absence of Kosovar citizens, EH, 41 years old, and FM, 37 years old.

From the control of the Border Police services of the port of Durrës, carried out based on a risk analysis, two citizens were found to have hidden in their bodies, a total of 22,820 Swiss francs and 555 euros, which they were attempting to bring into Albania, without declaring them at the border crossing point.

The amount of money was seized by the Police, with the quality of material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action, for the criminal offense of " Failure to declare money and valuables at the border ".
