He tried to bribe the Road Traffic Officers so that they would not impose a fine

A 35-year-old man will be investigated at large after he attempted to bribe Durrës Road Traffic Officers with 2,000 lek so that they would not impose a fine on him.

The driver was stopped by the Police services on the "Plepa-Romanat" road axis, for driving illegally and using a mobile phone.

Among other things, the verifications conducted revealed that he did not have insurance for the vehicle.

During the patrol with the objective of preventing accidents and punishing violators of traffic rules, the Durrës Traffic Police services stopped the driver of a vehicle they found on the “Plepa-Romanat” road axis, driving illegally and using a mobile phone. Also, the verifications showed that he was not equipped with insurance for the vehicle. 

During the actions of the Police officers, the driver of the vehicle, in order to avoid administrative measures for these violations, offered them 2,000 lek.

At the conclusion of the procedural actions in this case, administrative actions were carried out and the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated at large for citizen NP, 35 years old, resident of Kamëz, for the criminal offense "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.
