Former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, requests the disqualification of judge Irena Gjoka.
Through his lawyer, referring to a Supreme Court decision of July 2025, Mediu claimed that Judge Irena Gjoka could not be the judge in the case.
According to the lawyer, the preliminary judge can be the judge of the case on the merits only when the trial is abbreviated, not ordinary, as in the Mediu case.
Earlier, Judge Gjoka herself requested to resign from the case for the same reason, a request that was rejected by another judge.
