The murder of a 25-year-old Albanian man with a bullet to the head in Asti, Italy, last weekend may be linked to an anti-drug operation that the Carabinieri conducted in July of last year, codenamed " The Boy ".
It is precisely the laundering of accounts and the disruption of drug deals that may be the main lead being investigated by the Asti Prosecutor's Office authorities, but it is emphasized that the victim, whose name was not made public, had no recorded criminal record.
The autopsy revealed that the 25-year-old, who lived in the Alba area but is believed to have moved to the area where the crime occurred in recent days, had a bullet wound to the head, but the crime weapon was not found at the scene.
The murder took place in the La Bassa neighborhood, the body was discovered by a passerby next to the victim's "Lancia". It was covered with sand and leaves so that it would not be easily found.

Investigators believe the victim may have been in the car with the perpetrator, or went to a meeting at the exact location where the crime occurred and was shot to death there.
Another option is to set up an ambush or trap.
"His body was found lying in a field in Chivola, shortly after 07:30 on the morning of February 21, by a driver who was passing by. The boy was lying on the ground, in a pool of blood, next to a Lancia Ypsilon registered in the name of a family member, which has now been seized by the carabinieri," Italian media reported.
Sara Paterno, Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Asti, also attended the scene, along with the Carabinieri of Bra and colleagues from the Forensic Medicine Unit.
She is coordinating the investigation, which is currently under strict confidentiality. The body was found near the historic house in the village of Pedaggera.
"The boy, who apparently has no criminal record, may have been involved in a suspected drug ring linked to the murder. This pattern is reminiscent of the one uncovered in Operation Djalja "djalë" in Albanian carried out by the Carabinieri in Bra last July, when they dismantled a gang that recruited drug traffickers in Albania, brought them to Italy on 90-day tourist visas and then repatriated them after using them for drug trafficking," the Italian media report continues .
The mayor of Santa Vittoria d'Alba, Adriana Dellavalle, commented: "I know that the Asti Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating with the utmost confidentiality. I was told that the victim had most likely recently moved to the village of Cinzano and was therefore unknown to the community. As an administration, we are following the situation as it evolves."
