After 10 months in prison, the Freedom Party continues to consider Ilir Meta's confrontation with justice as a farce and a process ordered by Prime Minister Edi Rama. After Meta was not released even after being named as a defendant, the number 2 of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, leveled accusations against SPAK and its leader, Altin Dumani.
According to him, Meta is being held in prison due to the politicization of SPAK and the blackmail that the Special Prosecution exercises against the judiciary.
Blushi said that the investigation into Meta was ordered by the tribune of the SP Assembly, saying that so far no evidence implicating Ilir Meta has been discovered, even though SPAK has in fact closed the file and has already named him as the defendant.
"The President of the PL has been in prison for 10 months, not because of the law, but because of the extreme politicization of SPAK and the institutional blackmail that SPAK exercises over the GJKKO through wiretapping of judges and family members, violating their independence in decision-making. No real legal evidence has been discovered and presented to prove any illegal action by Meta. The claim that Meta's position has been aggravated is a fraud, his position has been eased because the lobbying case has been dropped since the day of the kidnapping and in the meantime the other charges have been dropped. The position of the SPAK prosecutors has been aggravated, it is worth noting that this entire farce process ordered by the tribune of the SP assembly, with investigations that have lasted over 6 years, has brought to light the only truths, zero criminal facts, zero lek obtained in violation of the law, zero real estate of Meta, zero real witnesses, because it is full of fabrications and criminal possibilities of "Rama's can be produced endlessly like this," said Blushi.
Blushi also dwells on the arguments why Meta was left in the cell, since according to SPAK and GJKKO there is a risk of intimidating witnesses. The General Secretary of the Freedom Party, Blushi stated that there is no PL witness who incriminates Meta, while he leveled accusations against the head of SPAK and Endrit Braimllari, who joined the SP.
"Dumani, who talks about intimidation, can be accused of intimidating witnesses since one of them entered his office with the PL's saw and left with the SP's saw, even Rama's candidate for MP in the parliamentary elections. Meta has no intimidating power over anyone. There is no PL witness who blames Meta or who makes him responsible in relation to the law, manipulation to implement Rama's message that he wanted Meta isolated in the extreme, misusing SPAK as a tool," said Blushi.
In the end, Blushi said that he seeks the return to legality of this process, which according to him has only followed the path laid out by Edi Rama's political orders.
