On Monday, the last chance: Failure of the secret ballot, the Constitutionalist
Members of the Constituent Assembly

The members of the Constitutional Court have on Monday their last chance to elect the head of the court by secret ballot. The failure of two rounds of voting, due to not reaching the minimum total of 5 votes, increases the possibility of choosing by lot the holder of this institution.

The race between the three female candidates for the leadership of the Constitutional Court seems to lead the procedure of choosing the new head to the lottery.

Last week, the Constitutional Court recorded two failed rounds of voting for the new president. In the first confrontation between the candidates, Fiona Papajorgji, Marjana Semini and Holta Zaçaj, none of them could get 5 votes, which is the minimum number required by the law for the election of the president.

The second round of voting, held on Friday, did not yield a result, and the votes were split evenly.

For this reason, the Assembly of Constitutional Judges set February 20 for a third round of voting, the last opportunity that the law provides for the election of the new head through a secret ballot.

Referring to the law "on the organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court", the 2 candidates with the most votes compete in this round, but the equality of votes will also make this a confrontation with three candidates.

If the balances of the secret ballot will not secure at least 5 votes for one of the candidates even in this round, then the final legal prediction for the election of the head of the Constituent Assembly is the lottery.

The Constitutional Court was filled with its 9 members with a full mandate on January 16, with the appointment of member Holta Zaçaj, who succeeded the former president Vitore Tusha, reports A2.
