The former head of the National Intelligence Service, Fatos Klosi, has confessed that when Pandeli Majko was prime minister, he wanted to arrest him for two snipers who were going to the KLA.
Klosi made his confession on the show "N'Demos", where he said that the snipers were coming from Chicago to Tirana.
He said that this action of Majko could come from fear or the desire to appear to the international community that he was doing his duty.
Klosi: Pandeli Majko wanted to arrest me in his office, don't say that is ridiculous, for two snipers who were caught at the Tirana airport and were going to the KLA, they came from Chicago and passed through all the airports, but not from Chicago there is a direct flight to Tirana and they went from New York to Zurich and then to Tirana, meaning that there was a general opinion that they were fighting for independence, they were not terrorists.
Was this the main obstacle or were there others later or earlier?
Klosi: I don't know if he was afraid, or if he wanted to appear in front of foreigners that he was doing his job as prime minister, I don't know, he was a 30-year-old prime minister, the first job he did was prime minister.
