SPAK has announced the 3 charges against former minister Arben Ahmetaj.

Ahmetaj is charged with the criminal offenses of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", "Active corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".

The Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime has registered criminal proceedings No. 277/1 of 2022 for the criminal offenses of "Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or any other person who has the legal obligation to declare", "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", "Active corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", provided respectively by articles 257/a, 260, 245, 287 of K.Penal.
Based on Article 73 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, Article 288 of the Criminal Code, as well as in the Regulation of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, Articles 13 and 118, in the framework of the above criminal proceedings, submitted the request for granting authorization from the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, for the arrest/deprivation of liberty and the exercise of personal control and the residence of the deputy:

• Arben AHMETAJ, son of Nevruz and Ferdana, born on 28.06.1969, born in Gjirokastër, with personal number G90628061Q.

This citizen, it turns out, has assumed the status of a person under investigation, in the framework of criminal proceedings no. 277/1 of 2022, as he is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses of:

• "Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has the legal obligation to declare", alone and in cooperation, in the form of false declaration, and in the form of concealment, provided by article 257/a, second paragraph, article 25 of the Penal Code,

• "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials" provided for by Article 260 of the Penal Code, 6 (six) times;

• "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", in cooperation, more than once, provided by article 287, second paragraph of the Penal Code.
