Today, in the early hours of Sunday (March 30), the clocks were moved forward one hour, from 02:00 to 03:00. This change marks the transition to daylight saving time, which will last until the last Sunday in October, when the clocks will be set back one hour.

The goal of changing the clock is to maximize the use of sunlight and save electricity. However, this means that people lost an hour of sleep today.

The idea for changing the clocks was born in 1907, when Englishman William Willett proposed a “summer time” system to make better use of morning light. His plan was first implemented by Germany on April 30, 1916, and was later followed by Britain.

Since 1981, the time change has been standardized across Europe, taking place on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October.

After the spring equinox, the days begin to lengthen, peaking on June 22, with 15 hours of daylight and 9 hours of darkness. This change affects people's daily rhythm, but it also helps save energy.
