Fiks Fare denounced a problem in the healthcare system on Wednesday evening, where a private hospital took a biopsy sample from a citizen and forgot to analyze it. Preng Gjomarkaj complained to the investigative show's editorial office.

"I went to Fiksi for a problem with the TRITA HOSPITAL hospital, located in Tirana. There was a colonoscopy machine there and I had some problems. I went there on December 30, 2024. I did it and paid 160 thousand lek (old) because there was an offer. They told me you have a gland that is 2 cm by 1 cm and they told me verbally and wrote it in the prescription that we should take a biopsy. They brought me the disk and the sheet that was the description of the colonoscopy.

"I ran away and waited for the phone call to come, after they told me that we would tell them about the biopsy results. I waited until January 21, 2025 and wrote to them, but they didn't answer me," Gjomarkaj claims.

Fiksi asked him if the prescription sheet says that samples were taken for biopsy, for planting. "Yes, and the doctor told me that samples were taken. The answer took 20 days. And I waited these days. My worries started to increase more than before I did it. I sent them a message. They called me and told me that the biopsy was not done because you did not pay the money. I answered them a little badly. I told them that I paid the money you asked for. What more money do you want?! However, I told them that you should have done the biopsy analysis and I should have paid for it and taken it. You have harassed me about the gland. You hung up on me and that's why I turned to Fiksi Fare," the citizen claims. He adds that now he has more worries than before and this prompted him to denounce them.

After the complaint, the 59-year-old went to the TRITA HOSPITAL hospital and met the hospital staff. They asked him what analysis he had done, while he also told them the problem. Then they took him to an employee who said she was the director. This "director" told him that she would verify it and give him an answer since she had no data.

The citizen leaves and then they call him from TRITA HOSPITAL, saying: "Since many days have passed since the material was taken, we suggest that you do it again at no cost and take another biopsy material. Only the biopsy will have a cost. I feel like you were not informed by us, but this is the solution. Now you have to pay 100 euros just for the biopsy." The citizen tells her that he will pursue her in court and other institutions, while she tells him that "there is no need to follow these steps."

The citizen informs her that the disease has advanced, as she replies that "I understand, so I'm telling you to get the complete material again properly". He asks her why she didn't do it the first time, as she replies that "here lies the problem, since we didn't notify you". She tells him that I'm giving you a solution that is good for both the hospital and the citizen. The citizen asks the employee how much his life is worth, since what they did to him has put him in danger. She replies that these conversations don't happen and that this is "the best solution for his life, I personally would suggest that you do it".

"They tell me to do it all over again, take the biopsy and wait another 20 days and my disease could progress because it will be violated twice. It may be nothing, but my concerns have increased after I had the first colonoscopy. So that hospital is making fun of me. I ask that this be published so that people know and that they give me compensation for this mistake," he concludes.
