Renowned analyst Ilir Demalia reacted today to a wave of comments on social media following a photo of him with Linda Rama at a joint event.
Invited to the "Breaking" show on Top News, he said that he and Linda Rama have family ties and that they are cousins and that they met at that dinner after more than 50 years.
He said that after this photo he received many attacks, mainly from political figures, calling him "a communist" or other labels, without actually knowing that they are cousins.
"Unfortunately, our society is uncultured and unethical and has an unjustifiable language of hate. First of all, people do not know that I and the Prime Minister's wife do not know that I have a family relationship, on my mother's side, we are cousins. I am telling you that I could have had Mrs. Linda Rama for 50 years without seeing her and without speaking to her. It was a meeting and when she saw me, she came and met me, hugged me, we started discussing, 'mom always remembers you'... because my mother was like a home with them.
Then the interpretations began, 'this guy is a communist'... and the newspapers, I don't care at all, but when a party uses vulgar language, to the point of banality... and when a woman uses it, it's to put her hands on her head. They have a depraved fantasy that comes from hatred, from inferiority complexes, but this hate speech must end. I say they should be ignored, but ignoring them also gives these people an advantage over this scum, this scum machine that explodes on party portals or on social networks. This is done with the sole purpose of throwing mud so that we all become mud", he said.
