The massive civic protest gathered thousands of Albanians in Tirana today at 6:00 PM, initially starting at Skanderbeg Square.
The numerous citizens chanted slogans and called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the imprisonment of him and opposition leader Sali Berisha. Organizers also called for caution against provocateurs during the protest.
Before marching towards the Prime Minister's Office, its organizer also gave a speech in which he called on citizens to stay united and away from political party infiltrators.
He said that they are gathered here for the problems of Albanians and not just for flamingos. While he demanded the overthrow of this rotten political system, he continued with the technical government and resignation, implying the establishment of a new real opposition party.
"The protest is not only about the flamengos, but also about the 1001 problems that the Albanian people have. So today the American flag also joins the protest. Stay united, because the politicians have panicked. Even the opposition is sold out and is trying to seize the protest. Albania is not sold out. The opposition has lost the last historic chance to cleanse itself of the hostage situation," he said.

And he added: "The more American flags the world will know, that this protest goes beyond flamingos, it is for all the problems that the Albanian people have. You all need to remain calm, because the politicians have panicked. Even the opposition, the opposition leaders are using people for blackmail, for shame," he said.
He then continued by calling on the public administration to join in, demanding the resignation of the government and a caretaker government.
"We are here for a new opposition, for a new party. We must also fight for the public sector employees who have been taken hostage, to come and join us. The major goal is to overthrow the system once and for all, resignation and a technical government," said the organizer.
The cries of "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "New Albania", "Edi Rama resign", "Homeland of Albanians, death to traitors", "Homeland is not for sale", have echoed today from the square in the center of Tirana.
