The movement in the village of Rrëja e Zeze of the Administrative Unit of Rubik in Mirdita has turned into a danger for the local community, because of a 30-year-old man with mental health problems.

The citizen with the initials SM is violent and aggressive and has often become the protagonist of various events, violently attacking villagers, who ended up in the hospital with fractures. "That person is very much a problem for the community here. He has mental health problems and often becomes aggressive and violent.

We have had several cases where he has raped our fellow villagers and ended up in the hospital. You are afraid to go out in the village, because of that person, because he is physically big and very powerful", says a resident of the village. The boy's health problems have become a big concern for his family, who are unable to keep the sick 30-year-old under control. Repeated events with him as the protagonist have opened conflicts for the family, even forcing one of the brothers, Lulzim Ndoj, to emigrate to the countries of the European Union, for fear of enmity, while the family has also been forced to move from the city to the countryside. The 30-year-old's father says that the boy is quite problematic.

"My son has had mental health problems for years. He is very aggressive and violent and we as a family find it impossible to keep him under control because he also abuses us. It has opened up many conflicts in the village, violating fellow villagers for no reason. That's how you type on his head and go and attack them, but no one can stand you. Many people have come to slander us, putting us in debt for the actions of the boy. Even my other son, Lulzim Ndoj, has been forced to leave Albania, for fear that the people that his brother has violated may take revenge because in our areas the hala works. The state has treated him with medication, but more needs to be done in this regard," says the 30-year-old's father.

"DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN"

The headman of the village of Rraja e Zeze, Kol Nikolli, says that the 30-year-old is a serious danger, especially for children, and demanded that a solution be found. "That person has opened many problems for his family. He is sick and acts aggressively and violently. The biggest risk is for children because it can give them brains and can attack them and produce some tragic event.

His brother has been forced to leave because of the feud and I think the state should take measures to treat this case seriously. He was arrested and sentenced some time ago, but when he finished his sentence and was released, he acted again in the same way. It is not at all normal that the entire village is afraid to move from such a person," says Nikolli. The case of this 30-year-old requires the attention of the responsible institutions, as the only way to avoid an event of tragic proportions, as has happened other times in Albania with mentally ill persons as protagonists./Gazeta Panorama
