The British media have discovered a scandal in the ranks of the "Home Office" agency. "The Sun" writes that a Border Force officer tasked with maintaining border security has been suspended after it was discovered that he was an illegal immigrant.
The official, according to media from the Balkans, has been arrested. “Allowing an alleged illegal immigrant to infiltrate the ranks of your border agency is disgraceful enough.
With the eyes of the whole country on the Border Force at the moment, this is the last thing they need," a British official told The Sun. The British media raises doubts that the arrested person is Albanian.
"The man, believed to be in his late 30s, arrived in the UK years ago from the Balkans. The investigation centers on allegations he lied about his country of origin on documents to stay in the UK.
At that time, hundreds of young Albanians came to Britain falsely claiming to be Kosovar in order to gain asylum. The man later won the right to stay and work in the UK. He passed basic employment and criminal record checks and would continue to be employed by the Border Force.
His number one job was to "secure the UK's border" with the main focus on stopping illegal migration into Britain. The scandal comes amid a border crisis that threatens to engulf the government with Interior Secretary Suella Braverman under pressure to find a solution.
More than 45,000 migrants have crossed the Channel to the UK this year in small boats alone, a 60 per cent increase on last year. Of them, about 13,000 are Albanians", writes The Sun.
