Gjirokastra was shocked two days ago by the suicide of 17-year-old Irsa Muçollari, due to the constant bullying that the young woman experienced from her friends at school.
On the day she made the decision to end her life, Irsa had left school 3 times and headed home, where each time her father had been inside the apartment.
She killed herself in her room, leaving behind a letter saying that no one approaches her and that everyone makes fun of her for her appearance.
"Oh God, why am I suffering like this? I am who I am, and I ask my friends and comrades to respect me. But they make fun of me. I feel so lonely and drowning in my loneliness. I am not ashamed of my clothes. My parents have so many opportunities, my dad who cares so much for me as much as my mom. But why did I want to be so isolated? Where can I complain? Who can I turn to? Who can I open my heart to? I don't trust anyone. Not even psychology, although I am open. Why did I want to suffer? Is this life?", wrote the 17-year-old.
Irsa Muçollari wrote this letter in English and hid it in the cover of her cell phone.
This letter has shed light on the horrific reasons that led the 17-year-old to commit this extreme act.
Authorities have now received testimonies from all the staff at the "Siri Shapllo" high school where the 17-year-old studied, as well as all of her friends.
