The administration of United States President Donald Trump has notified the US Congress that it will allocate more than $206 million for the International Stabilization Force in the Gaza Strip (ISF), Reuters reported.
The announcement said that $200 million will go towards ISF equipment, infrastructure, vehicles and operations, while another $6.3 million will go towards armored vehicles that were originally intended for Nepal.
In the second State Department announcement dated July 30, it was stated that Kosovo and Albania will be the beneficiaries of nine armored personnel carriers (APCs), as part of the contribution of their soldiers to the peacekeeping mission in Gaza.
So far, five countries have committed to the ISF – Kosovo, Albania, Indonesia, Morocco and Kazakhstan – which are expected to lead security operations, support the demilitarization of the enclave, enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and help disarm Hamas after Israel's withdrawal.
