A serious maritime accident was recorded this afternoon in the area between Rrjoll and Rana e Hedhun, in Shëngjin.

According to the Police, the incident occurred at around 16:15, in a navigation area at sea. A rubber boat with three people on board is suspected to have been involved in an incident while sailing. One of the people on board fell from the rubber boat and was seriously injured by the engine propeller.

The young man, Klaus Gergji, around 24 years old, was initially transported by Border Police services and then by ambulance to the hospital. Despite medical intervention, the 24-year-old was unable to survive the injuries he sustained and lost his life.

At around 16:15, between Rjoll and Rana e Hedhun, in the deep water (navigation area), from a floating rubber boat, it is suspected that one of the three citizens on board accidentally fell from the rubber boat and was seriously injured by the propeller of the rubber boat's engine.

The Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit, upon receiving the notification, immediately went to the scene.

Citizen Klaus Gergji, around 24 years old, was immediately transported by Border Police services and then by ambulance to the hospital for medical assistance, but, as a result of the injuries he sustained, he lost his life.

Meanwhile, the investigation group is continuing its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
