Customs authorities, in cooperation with the State Police, have foiled an attempt to traffic narcotics at the Rinas Border Crossing Point, as part of controls based on risk analysis.

During the baggage scanner inspection of a flight on the Toronto-Rinas route, two suitcases were identified that raised suspicions of illegal contents.

After their physical search, in the presence of the possessors, approximately 46 kilograms of suspected narcotics, Cannabis sativa, were seized, divided into 89 packages.

The two people involved have been escorted by the State Police, while the seized materials and items have been made available to the investigative bodies for further procedural actions.
