Despite the approval in the Assembly, the salary increase for all categories in the state administration will not be applied for the month of May, but will pass as they were before the new law was approved.
In an appearance for the media, the Minister of Economy and Finance Delina Ibrahimaj clarified that this is done on purpose until the complete preparation of the documentation and not to cause delays in salaries.
"We approved eight decisions of the Council of Ministers, but there were discussions. We will take a little more time, since there are over 200 institutions of the administration that are affected by these decisions and over 130 thousand employees, whose salaries were approved since April, the clarification and application of the decisions takes a longer time .
This is also the reason why, in order to be more coherent and to cause as few delays as possible in receiving salaries, we have asked all budgetary institutions to prepare the necessary documentation in order for the salaries of the month of May in the first phase to pass as they were before the reform came into effect.
Taking into consideration here that some of the institutions, in fact, the heads of the institutions that are affected by the law that passed in the Parliament could apply the salaries, we decided that the salaries as a whole will go as they were in the month of May and in the meantime, with the clarification of the decisions, we will we instruct about the necessary documentation in order for the salary supplements to be applied either for the month of April or for the month of May", stated Ibrahimaj.
