The Minister of Economy and Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, says that the salary increases for the months of April and May will be given during this month (June).

Minister Ibrahimaj says that the postponement of the application of salary supplements was done in order to avoid mistakes, as she points out that clarifying the decisions, but also drafting an accurate and clear instruction on how the institutions should act for implementation, has some changes to how wages should be calculated.

Question: When will the application of salary supplements start?

Delina Ibrahimaj: There are over 200 public institutions at the central level that benefit from the increase in salaries and clarification of decisions, but also the drafting of a precise and clear instruction on how the institutions should act for implementation, there are some changes in how salaries must be calculated.

We decided to give the salaries as they had been in the past and to take some time in order not to make mistakes. The instruction is on the verge of finalization.

In the guidance, it is also foreseen how these salary supplements will be applied so that not all of them are applied to one month's salary and all employees with a higher value are taxed, but the supplement is distributed to salary for the specific month without interfering with the payment list without incurring fines.

The implementation of this reform and the decisions accompanying these reforms has a procedure that is not simple. There is no change in the coefficients that were determined for the salary increase and for the scaling of when the full salary increase will take effect.

Salaries will increase by 2 degrees, where the first degree will be applied during this month, so the allowances will be given during this month, both for the month of April and for the month of May, while the second degree of increase will be made during the next year .
