SPAK prosecutor Dorina Bejko emphasized that Belinda Balluku's position as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Infrastructure, at a time when she has been indicted, constitutes a potential risk.
In the public session being held at the Constitutional Court, where the government's appeal against the GJKKO decision to suspend Balluk from office is being reviewed, the SPAK prosecutor stated that there is a risk that she will destroy evidence and commit other criminal offenses.
She also mentioned a statement by the Prime Minister's representative in the session that she has proposed 50 acts, which means that she could again act contrary to the law.
"The investigation is dynamic. In this session, we cannot disclose whether, on the part of the investigated person, the fact that she has continued to exercise this activity in a powerful sector such as infrastructure and energy, we cannot disclose it, but definitely yes. In the macro assessment of the risks, it has been established that she has continued to exercise the duties of minister and deputy prime minister.
The prime minister's representative himself said that the investigated party has proposed 50 acts. So we are before the court and we are announcing that this investigated party has not fulfilled its duty in accordance with the law, has violated the public interest and the risk that this investigated party will continue and endanger the public interest is concrete because it continues in this duty.
"In a macro sense, I said that there is a risk that by continuing to perform her duties, the person under investigation risks committing criminal offenses of the same nature and poisoning evidence," said the Prosecutor.
