Protest at Parliament, 2 officers and 2 protesters injured

Tensions have escalated significantly during today's protest near the Albanian Parliament, where clashes were recorded between protesters and the State Police.

The situation worsened after protesters attempted to break through the police cordon to approach the Parliament building. In an attempt to disperse the crowd, the police used water cannons and tear gas, while protesters responded by throwing eggs, tomatoes and water bottles at the blue uniforms.

It is reported that two protesters were injured in the clashes, who were transported by ambulance to the hospital to receive medical attention.

Also, two State Police officers were injured during the clashes. One of them suffered minor injuries, while another was bleeding after being hit by objects thrown by protesters. An ambulance was also requested for them.

In today's protest, which coincides with the 54th day of the civic rally, the police had set up two security perimeters and did not allow protesters to station themselves in front of the Parliament.

The clashes occurred at a time when the last plenary session of this parliamentary session was taking place in Parliament.
