Albanian diplomat Shaban Murati has reiterated his request that Albania declare February 17 an official holiday.

He has shown that he has proposed to the Albanian government since 2012 that this Kosovo independence day be an official holiday. According to him, it is the second most important event in the history of the Albanian nation after November 28, 1912.

"Albania make February 17 an official holiday! I have proposed since March 26, 2012 that Albania make February 17 an official holiday, because the independence of Kosovo is the second most important event in the history of the Albanian nation after November 28, 1912. I wish that a government in Tirana, let the national conscience be awakened!," he writes in Alb Spirit.

But his proposal has not yet been taken into account by the Albanian institutions.
