Eight months after the murder of minor Martin Cani, a video published by journalist Eraldo Harlicaj divided public opinion in two.

Journalist Anila Hoxha tells in Top Story the conversation she had with journalist Harlicaj after the publication of the video and also the decision of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office regarding this situation.

" The precedent of revealing acts and launching investigations, when a journalist publishes data from an investigative file, is dangerous for the media environment and media workers."

It is not fixed like the 'Qyno' case. The legal precedent is almost similar, because in the 'Qyno' case the court claimed that the acts should not be published, Qyno went to the end, published data and his apartment was searched and then there were measures. The Albanian prosecution says that it will investigate who leaked the secret and will not investigate the one who had the duty to keep the secret. It is very paradoxical. This brings intimidation of journalists and is unusual.

I'll share a moment, after the video was published, Eraldo called me and was very upset. He asked me for an opinion and the sentence was: 'Was I wrong to publish this video?'. I told him: 'This is your personal and professional decision and only you know what you are investigating. You are raising questions about another person who was not there.' The journalist knows where he is pushing the story.

There are some principles, respecting mourning. Care must be taken when there are children, etc. When Klodian Rasha was killed, we published the video, with extraordinary care every image was deleted and we were clear about what we were doing. The reaction was accusatory. People were shocked, but the intention is very important. I do not believe that Eraldo published the video for the 'click-by' effect. I believe that there is an intention in the sense of the investigation he is conducting" , said journalist Hoxha.
