The well-known Greek forecaster Sakis Arnaoutoglou, who follows with great attention and interest the developments of weather phenomena in the Balkans and especially in Albania, announces that from Tuesday to next Saturday there is a risk of major floods in the Shkodra area for due to heavy and continuous rain.

Asked in more detail by Tch, the wave of bad weather coming from Central Europe will bring, according to him, almost extraordinary phenomena to the border of Albania with Montenegro and then to the areas in the north of the country. Even between Shkodra and Kukës, numerous snowfalls are predicted.

"It is expected in the western part of the Balkan peninsula, in Montenegro, but mainly in the northern part of Albania, that we will have particularly heavy rains, which will continue all week until Saturday and it is not excluded that they will cause major problems if they the synoptic predictions come true. Also, in the mountainous areas in the north of Albania, there will be snowfall that will descend from the height of 1700m to the areas with a height of 1000m from Thursday and we are talking about very heavy snowfall," said Sakis Arnautoglou, forecaster ERT.

According to Arnaoutoglou, in many places the thickness of the snow can exceed 1m. The wave of bad weather will also affect the border areas of Albania with Greece near Ioannina from Wednesday, where it is predicted that there will be heavy rains that could cause flooding.
