A "perfect example of integration" - this is how the Italian media describe the young Albanian, Klajdi Bitri, the 23-year-old Albanian killed on Sunday afternoon in Sirolo.

The young man worked at the port and was well integrated into the reality of Ancona, the city where he lived. He was killed trying to protect an Italian friend who had been attacked by the accused and then arrested for the crime.

"I want justice. I watched my brother die in front of me, killed with total indifference, without even understanding why. Without having time to realize that he was dying. I saw him grow fainter and fainter, all of a sudden, and he no longer answered me because he was dead. Killed", says the Albanian's brother.

The young man wants to return his brother's body to Albania, where their parents live: "They will not be able to come to Italy. I feel obliged to sort out all the necessary documents and bring him home." And again, he recalls: “He was not only my brother, he was also my father. He has always worked and only to take me to Italy, to find a more dignified life".

The League's regional councilor Lindita Elezi, an Italian citizen of Albanian origin, described the murdered 23-year-old as a "perfect example of integration" and is currently collecting testimonies of pain and condolences from the Albanian community.

"He gave everything, he gave his life, for me it is also a proof of the nature of our people, brave and always ready to protect those in need", he added. Those who knew the victim speak of him as a son of connected with the family, who called his mother every day.

Elezi has been put at the disposal of Klajd's family but also the Albanian government, "for anything necessary".

Meanwhile, the accused for the crime is in prison. Twenty-seven-year-old, of Algerian origin, is accused of aggravated murder.
