Heavy rain is expected tomorrow, increasing the risk of flooding.

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi says that the most endangered districts are Shkodër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Fier and Vlorë.

Peleshi clarifies that the Ministry of Defense and the Civil Defense Agency are on alert, while calling on municipalities throughout the country to take the necessary measures for any emergency.

"Based on the information received from the experts of the Institute of Geosciences, starting from the early hours of Tuesday, high intensity rainfall is expected in our country in the districts of Shkodër, Lezhë, Durres, Tirana, Fier and Vlorë. Average rainfall is expected in most other regions of the country, accompanied by thunderstorms. In the above-mentioned counties, there may be flash floods of small mountain rivers and landslides. In urban areas, localized flooding problems may occur in these counties, depending on the condition of the sewers.

The Ministry of Defense and the Civil Defense Agency are on full alert for any emergency, so we call on all municipalities to take the necessary measures as soon as possible to prevent floods or landslides. We will be on the lookout for all situations that may occur, guaranteeing the safety of our citizens" , Minister Peleshi announced.
