A 31-year-old wanted for money laundering was arrested in Elbasan. Assets worth 133,000 euros were seized from the young man, which he allegedly invested through criminal activity.

Specifically, an apartment in Durrës and 3 cars were seized. For the 31-year-old, MA, the Court of Elbasan, dated 01.12.2024, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Cleaning the products of criminal offense or criminal activity".

Also, the young man is a person with a previous criminal record, as he was previously arrested in Italy for participating in a criminal organization for the exploitation of prostitution.

"As part of a procedure for tracing, locating and seizing assets derived from criminal activities, the specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, have organized and finalized the police operation coded "Resource".

As a result of the operation, in cooperation with the services of the Special Operational Force, the citizen MA, 31 years old, resident in Elbasan, was arrested and detained by the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Elbasan, with the decision dated 01.12.2024 , has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Cleaning the products of the criminal offense or criminal activity".

In addition, assets worth about 136,000 euros were seized (1 apartment in Durrës and 3 vehicles), which are suspected to have their source from the criminal activities of this citizen", the police announced.
