The State Police takes stock of the week: 22 operations completed in one week,

The police have intensified checks and investigative work for the prevention of criminal events as well as for clarifying those that happened before, the report states.

Police structures, during this week, have finalized a series of police operations, as well as surprise controls continue, in every corner of the country, to attack illegality in all its forms.

Intensive controls continue in all coastal areas, with the aim of identifying and punishing citizens who carry out dangerous maneuvers with boats, endangering the lives of vacationers. Finalized operations, also for the release of spaces on the coastline.

Completed operations 

Korçë - The intervention of the Police services prevents a serious criminal event, within the coded police operation "Matrix". The 26-year-old man, who had been released from prison in recent months and is suspected of committing a paid murder, was handcuffed for walking around with a firearm ready to shoot.

Lezhë - The police operation coded "GJURMA" is finalized by the structures of the Lezhë Police, as a result of which a murder that happened in 2016 in Mirdita was clarified and fully documented, its author is put in handcuffs.

Tirana - Finalized by DVP Tirana, "Double strike" in 2 phases and "Passenger" - An arsenal of weapons is discovered and seized, 3 citizens who were carrying weapons and illegal items, in the vehicles they were traveling with, in the apartments of themselves and in the premises rented by them;

ARRESTS 

•During this week, 410 citizens were arrested, prosecuted and wanted, of which: 115 were arrested, 270 were prosecuted and 25 were wanted.

• A total of 38 wanted persons were captured, of which: 36 were wanted nationally and 2 were wanted internationally.

22 police operations 

• 22 coded police operations were carried out: "Discover", "Double strike" (2 cases), "Passenger", "Last box", "Medicines", "Share", "Benefit", "Free coast", " Makineta", "Diesel", "Fields", "Zalli i Bazit", "JURMA", "Around", "Laku", "Kreshpan", "Perimeter 185", "Perimeter 186", "Knock Down" (following ), "Restart 10" and "Matrix".

Operations against narcotics 

The Police Services have continued during this week, checks throughout the country, with the aim of preventing, identifying and cracking down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics.

• "Zalli i Bazi"/Mat - A case of cultivation of narcotic plants in an open environment is investigated, the 44-year-old repeat offender in this criminal activity is arrested, his brother is declared wanted;

• "Fields"/Saranda - They were caught red-handed watering narcotic plants, 2 brothers in handcuffs;

• "Laku"/Pukë - Caught and arrested red-handed, watering narcotic plants, 3 citizens, 527 suspected cannabis narcotics seized;

• "Kreshpan"/Fier - 2 shotguns, 8 kilograms of cannabis and 163 cannabis plants are seized, the 47-year-old man and his son are handcuffed, the other son is declared wanted;

• "Restart 10"/Korçë - 30 kg of cannabis are seized, 1 citizen is handcuffed and 1 other is prosecuted;

• 2 wanted citizens are caught and put in handcuffs, as part of the anti-cannabis police mega-operation coded "Knock Down", finalized 3 months ago, in Korça;

٠”Share”/Elbasan – Amounts of heroin and a sum of money suspected to have benefited from this criminal activity are seized, the 37-year-old man is arrested, his accomplice is wanted.

What was seized 

• As a result of massive controls, operations and strikes by the DVPs in the districts, about 51 kg of cannabis narcotics, amounts of heroin, thousands of cannabis plants, sums of money benefited from various criminal activities, smuggled medications, 4 radios as those of the Police, 3 vehicles, 21 mobile devices, Albanian and foreign license plates, 2 pairs of binoculars, forged documents and 7 boats.

9 cases of possession of weapons without a permit 

•In the field of illegal possession of weapons, 9 cases were recorded and investigated and 1 sniper, 7 firearms, 3 shotguns, 1 sporting rifle, 6 knives, pistol combs, silencers, various weapon accessories, 1 iron handle and 1 metal rod.

• 12 cases of opposition to police officers were dealt with, as well as 42 cases of domestic violence were prosecuted.

• 20 cases of environmental crimes, 5 cases of organizing gambling and 4 cases of electricity theft have been identified and dealt with.

• In the field of narcotics, 24 cases were identified and dealt with, while in the field of economic crime, 26 cases were identified and dealt with.

• 11 cases of criminal activity with the object of deliberate arson were identified and investigated and the suspected perpetrators were criminally prosecuted.

Road controls

Traffic Police/Intensive monitoring continues on all the country's road axes, using the new fleet of vehicles equipped with modern technology, smart cars, Poliscan, the "educational" drone, the automatic license plate reader, the automatic radars installed in the fleet of new vehicles, cameras and other non-uniform tools, in order to prevent accidents and increase road safety parameters.

•During this week, 466 driving licenses were suspended, of which: 360 for speeding over the allowed rates, 67 for driving under the influence of alcohol or in a drunken state, and 39 for driving in the opposite direction.

• 35 drivers were arrested, of these: 20 for driving while intoxicated and 15 for driving without a driving license.

•Tirana Traffic Police have dealt with 2 cases of attempting to bribe Traffic Police employees and 2 cases of driving under the influence of narcotics.

• 15,512 administrative measures have been imposed for violations that are a risk of involvement in road accidents.

Border Police/During this week, Border Police services have continued checks in all coastal areas, with the aim of identifying and punishing citizens who carry out dangerous maneuvers with watercraft, endangering the lives of vacationers, for the documentation that private watercraft must have and watercraft that are used for entertainment, as well as for respecting buoys and the relevant signaling for the restriction of watercraft.

• In this context, during this week, 7 "Jet ski" watercraft were blocked for performing dangerous maneuvers in the security perimeter on the beaches.

•During this week, 7 wanted citizens were caught, of which 5 are wanted nationally and 2 are wanted internationally.

• 10 cases of attempted illegal border crossing and providing assistance for illegal border crossing were investigated.

• 5 citizens were criminally prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Forgery of documents" and 5 others for the criminal offense of "Trafficking of motor vehicles"

•Also, 2 cases of bribery and 2 cases of the criminal offense "Non-declaration of money at the border" were dealt with.

Intensification of controls 

In order to prevent criminal events, to catch people who circulate with firearms or narcotics, the State Police will intensify surprise checks throughout the country. Controls will be intensified along the coastline and in other tourist areas, in order to guarantee order and safety for vacationers and tourists.

Also, police operations and cooperation with citizens, partners and law enforcement agencies inside and outside the country will continue, with the aim of fighting organized crime and crime in general, to create a safer environment for the lives and property of citizens.
