Two people have been arrested by Italian police after being accused of drug trafficking. Local media reports indicate that one of them is Albanian.
At the time of the arrest, the young men were also found with half a kilogram of cocaine, ready for sale.
The 21-year-old Albanian and the 24-year-old Italian were arrested in Milan, by local police in Vermezzo.
Their arrest came after a series of investigations by Italian authorities who managed to dismantle this drug trafficking network.
These citizens had expanded their activity to several areas of Italy and were exchanging "goods" in parking lots.
According to Italian media, the McDonald's parking lot in Magenta was a favorite place for exchanging money. But also the area near the Boffalora-Malpensa roundabout. Members of this criminal group used names like "sandwich" or "package" for the "white" they distributed.
Even in one case of wiretapping by the authorities, one of them said: "I'm coming back from Magenta with the McDonald's package... the sandwich."
Four people were arrested a month ago in Sedriano, again for drug-related matters. In that case, it was a 36-year-old woman from the Brescia area who was stopped by the Carabinieri in Sedriano, where the meeting for the exchange had been scheduled. The operation led to the seizure of eight kilos of hashish and almost one kilo of marijuana.
