A foreign tourist lost his life and another was found in critical condition by the Border Police, during a random patrol in Albanian maritime waters today.

The Border Police informed that they transported two foreign citizens, one of whom lost his life, of the male sex and the other person was taken by ambulance in a state of shock.

The persons did not have identification tools, as investigations have begun to fully clarify the event. According to information from the port, it turns out that while patrolling the sea, a border boat encountered a water engine with two people on top.

The vehicle's engine was turned off and it is believed that the two people suffered possible hypothermia in the open sea. It is not known for how many hours the two people stayed in the open sea, for whom identification is also being worked.

The border boat has transported them to the port at pier zero. Meanwhile, as the ambulance arrived, unfortunately one of them died, while the other was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

An investigative group has also been set up for the case, while the results of the forensic expertise and the testimonies from the survivor are awaited.
