Belinda Balluku

The issue of the suspension of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku from office is being reviewed this Tuesday at the Constitutional Court.

After the panel did not reach a unanimous decision on whether or not to proceed to a hearing, the matter was referred to a meeting of judges, where it will be decided whether the Prime Minister's appeal will be reviewed on its merits, where one of the first requests seeking a solution is the overturning of the security measure of suspension of Belinda Balluku.

With the signature of Prime Minister Edi Rama, on November 21, the Council of Ministers appealed to the Constitutional Court the decision of the Special Court to suspend the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, who is also Deputy Prime Minister.

The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime decided on Saturday, November 22, to continue the implementation of personal security measures imposed on Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, for suspension from duty and a ban on her leaving the country, following her indictment by SPAK for violating equality in tenders.

Meanwhile, Balluku has appealed today to the Special Court of Appeal the First Instance decision for its suspension and the other security measure, that of "leaving the country".
