Marselo Arani , one of the suspected perpetrators of the murder of businessman Mondi Mëhalla in Elbasan, is a well-known name for justice, not only in Albania, but also in Italy.

The 32-year-old was under house arrest for money laundering, while about a year ago, Elbasan police arrested Marselo Arani , accused of money laundering.

Excerpt from the police announcement : Citizens MA, 32 years old, resident of Elbasan, were declared wanted, while he was under the security measure "House arrest" for another criminal offense, as well as AK, 35 years old, resident of Laç, (suspected as perpetrators of the murder), for the criminal offenses "Premeditated murder", committed in collaboration, "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Removal of a prisoner from the place of residence".

We recall that in June of this year, the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office seized 14 properties owned by Marselo Arani.

Arani has been convicted by a final decision in Italy for the criminal offense of exploitation of prostitution.

During the investigations, it was proven that he had committed criminal activities on Italian territory.

Confiscated assets:

An apartment in Durrës;

11 vehicles of different brands (Mercedes-Benz, Audi SQ7, Maserati, BMW, Suzuki, Fiat, Volkswagen, Jeep);

A BMW motorcycle;

A car trading and rental business in Elbasan.

What is house arrest:

According to Article 237 : by court decision, the defendant is ordered not to leave his residence (or a specific place) and to remain there, according to the conditions determined by the court.

We recall that Marselo Arani, 32, and Armando Kola, 35, have been declared wanted as perpetrators of the murder of businessman Edmond Hyka alias Mondi Mëhalla on Sunday evening in Elbasan.

Two others have been arrested, 32-year-old Xhino Ago, suspected of being an accomplice, after giving the vehicle to one of the perpetrators, as well as 52-year-old Kujtim Pisha, the guard at the "Xhaxhi Oil" gas station where the incident occurred.
