Today marks five years since the tragic death of Major Klodian Tanushi and Corporal Zarife Hasanaj during the NATO mission in Latvia.

They died in the line of duty after a mine exploded at Camp Adazi in Latvia.

Hasanaj and Tanushi have been declared Martyrs of the Motherland.

The Major General of the Armed Forces, Arben Kingji, commemorated the separation from their lives this May 6.

"We commemorate with honor and respect, Major Klodian Tanushi and Corporal Zarife Hasanaj, who fell to the top of their duties 5 years ago in the NATO mission in Latvia. Eternal glory," he writes.
