The mayor of Shkodra, Bardh Spahia, says that measures have been taken for any unexpected situation that bad weather may bring during the night hours.
He calls on the residents to ask for help in case there is a need for evacuation, due to the increase in the water level, and asks KESH to inform about the change in the amount of water flows.
"I am closely following the situation created by the heavy rains in Shkodër Municipality.
Our work groups are in the field and we have taken measures for any case that may arise. I request the cooperation of the residents in case of emergency to contact the municipal structures for evacuation or any other need that may arise.
As a result of the discharges from the hydropower plants of the Drin cascade, difficult hours are expected, therefore I call on the leaders of KESH to provide timely and periodic information on the flows and discharges so that we do not find ourselves in unforeseen situations".
