Journalist Artan Hoxha has reacted after the arrest of two Albanian citizens by the Greek police at the Naval Station of Salamis, calling on Albanian politicians to take measures to release them.
Hoxha called on Prime Minister Rama, President Begaj and Foreign Minister Olta Xhaçka to use diplomacy with Greece through the Albanian Embassy in Athens.
He emphasized that every Albanian who is arrested on the border with Serbia or on the border of a Greek naval base, has the right to be protected by his country and not to be unjustly punished just because he is Albanian.
Yesterday evening, two Albanians, 63 and 67 years old, were arrested by the Greek police after being accused of espionage. They were arrested on the territory of a military zone at the Naval Station of Salamis after being spotted by soldiers. The media said that the arrested were drunk.
" Now that the 3 policemen of Kosovo were released from Serbia, will anyone be interested in these 2 Albanians arrested by the Greek army??!!
The release of the three policemen of the Republic of Kosovo from their imprisonment in Serbia was welcomed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, President Bajram Begaj and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania...
Well, very well done, the heads of our state, who welcome the release of three innocent policemen of Kosovo...
But he has announced who, the fathers of the nation, even the Albanian embassy in Athens, that two Albanian citizens have been arrested near the
naval base of the Greek army in Salamis, accused of espionage ?
Shouldn't you mobilize the Albanian embassy in Athens
to clarify what really happened to the two Albanian citizens who were arrested by the Greek army?!
What is the identity of these Albanians?!
Why were they arrested?!
Are they really involved in espionage activities, against the Greek army and on behalf of whose country were they spying?!
If you haven't done it by now, you should do it from now on.
Every Albanian who is arrested, be it on the border with Serbia, or in the vicinity of a naval base of the Greek Army, enjoys every right to be protected by his own country and not to be unjustly punished just for the fact that he is Albanian... "
