A tree about 8 meters tall has been found inside the main sewage collector on Kashari Boulevard, revealing the cause of a problem that, according to Prime Minister Edi Rama, had been worrying residents of the area for more than a decade.
The Prime Minister announced the case through a post on social media, writing that for years, every time it rained, sewage flooded Kashari Boulevard and spread to surrounding neighborhoods, despite repeated interventions.
According to the Prime Minister, the cause was discovered through special underground cameras, which were inserted into the collector.
Rama also used the opportunity to bring the Territorial Reform back into focus, arguing that such episodes show the need for changes in the way the territory is administered and managed.
Rama's post:
For more than a decade, every time it rained, no matter how short, sewage would fill Kashari Boulevard and burst into the neighborhoods. Prevention, intervention, unsuccessful re-intervention until yesterday the real and incredible cause of the black blessing that rain brought every time it fell on Kashari was discovered, where before the First Territorial Reform, the Municipality of Kashari, a proud bastion of the democrats, built the main sewage collector on Kashari Boulevard.
Special underground cameras entered the sewer and found there what even the wildest imagination could hardly have imagined: An 8-meter tree trunk lying inside the main sewage pipe.
So, during the works, a large plane tree, 8 meters tall, that was located there, was cut down and, instead of being removed from the construction site, was "buried" inside the collector!
Only God knows what the minds of those who ordered and carried out this criminal act said, but this is also a very concrete reminder for all those who have forgotten why Albania needed Territorial Reform.
Today the tree has been removed. The collector has been freed. And the residents of Kashari will no longer have to pay the price for a criminal vileness like the one that tortured them for more than ten years.
The new Albania is not only the Balkan Europe that we are building, but also the one that reveals, cleanses, and corrects the deformations still remaining on our path from the Black Hole of the Balkans that this country was when we took office.
