A serious family crime shocked the country. 25-year-old Marjan Kodheli stabbed his father, Pjetër Kodheli, in the heart inside their apartment in the village of Shkallnur, Durrës.

The incident took place within a few minutes, as the Kodheli family had just finished having lunch with some of their relatives. In an exclusive interview with the author's mother, who was the only witness at the time of the incident, the details are horrifying.

She tells the show "With an Open Heart" by author and moderator Evis Ahmeti on News24, that it was only 2 minutes that decided her husband's tragic fate. She said amidst the pain that we had just eaten lunch, we were escorting the relatives and I had just left the room where the father and son were, only when I heard my husband's voice telling me: " Save yourself, call the police". I went inside and found my son still shooting her. I grabbed him and tried to take the knife away, he ran away, while my husband was upside down and when I turned him over he was covered in blood - she says.

" I saw horror with my own eyes that day. I found the two of them fighting, they had never fought before. We had eaten lunch, I went out to light a cigarette and when I returned I found them like that.
On June 22, the boy had returned from emigration. From September 15, he began to withdraw into himself, we could barely get his words out," he said.
